Terry & Maria Burcham

Guagueyvo, an Indian village meaning "where the eagles nest," is located in th Copper Canyon. I first traveled to this village over thirty years ago when a Tarahumara man came to our mission looking for help. Many of the children in his village were sick. The village only a couple hours away, he asked if we would come and help. The mission clinic was well stocked with medical supplies. We decided to pack the necessary supplies and leave out early the next morning.

My backpack was quite heavy but I didn't think too much about it since I had hiked many times through the mountains. Besides that, he said it was only a two hour walk. My backpack seemingly became heavier and the walk much longer. Eight hours later and more than 20 miles behind us, we topped the last ridge. We could now see the village of Guagueyvo below dropping over 5,000 feet in elevation from Guaguachique, the village we had originally left. We still had several hours to walk before we would actually reach the village located at the bottom of the canyon.

The experiences ahead of me were life changing, and I thank everyone for all of the prayers and support! May God richly bless you!

Terry and Maria have been faithfully serving the Lord for over thirty years in Guaguachique, Mexico. They have recently challenged their church to do as much as they can to help with the building of a much needed new church building. The church has grown so much over the last several years that there is not enough room in the original church building. One way to encourage the people of the village to help was to buy a stone with their name on it to be placed in the sidewalk around the new church building. The foundation was laid and in four and a half days the building was built.

Please pray with us about the finishing of this building. Terry is in the process of raising the remainder of the money to finish the outside of the building. Please pray that we can get the siding finished before the rains come and destroy this beautiful building God
has given us.

The following pictures are of the new church building:

Are you going to Heaven?

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
